Reflections in Black
Reflections in Black is a suite of dances choreographed by Lula Washington and selected choreographers. Through dance, music, song, poetry, and personal statements, this suite explores and reflects on the Black experience in the United States, and African American culture and history, including: Harriet Tubman, the Civil Rights Movement, social justice in the present, a celbration of blues, jazz, and , and the global African Diaspora. The pieces of the suite are interchangeable and are arranged for each presentation. This suite can be 5-minutes (one dance), or up to a 90-minute concert.
